Concerns Before Implementation

Can seawise AI solutions be integrated with our existing fleet or voyage management systems?
Yes. seawise AI is designed to integrate with existing Fleet Management Systems (FMS) and Voyage Management Systems (VMS). Flexible data connections such as API integration and CSV import are supported, so you can adopt it without major changes to your current workflows.
Our fleet is mid-sized (or small). Will it still be effective?
Absolutely. Regardless of fleet size, seawise’s AI delivers immediate benefits such as route optimization and fuel savings. Several small to mid-sized shipping companies have already seen cost reductions within just a few months.
Can crews and staff use it even if they are not familiar with IT?
The operation is very simple and does not require specialized knowledge. The user interface is intuitive and visually displays necessary information, minimizing confusion at the field level. Training is also provided at the time of implementation, so you can rest assured.
What is the expected ROI?
In many cases, the initial investment is recovered within 6 to 12 months through fuel savings and improved operational efficiency. However, results may vary depending on your specific situation, so please feel free to consult with us.
How long does initial implementation take?
For solutions that require onboard installation, the typical implementation period is around one to two months. However, the actual schedule may vary depending on your operational circumstances and integration with existing systems. We will work closely with each client to coordinate the timeline accordingly.

Technical Questions During Operation

What backup measures are in place if the system goes down?
Yes. Our cloud infrastructure is built with redundancy to ensure rapid recovery in the event of any unforeseen failure. The onboard system is also designed to minimize operational impact. In addition, we regularly provide feature enhancements and accuracy improvements via cloud-based updates. Onboard updates are carefully scheduled to avoid disrupting vessel operations.
How are software updates delivered?
Updates to enhance functionality and accuracy are delivered periodically via the cloud. While these updates are not on a fixed schedule, onboard system updates are carefully coordinated to ensure there is no disruption to normal vessel operations.
Can the system be customized for each vessel?
Yes. The system is designed to optimize performance based on vessel type, engine characteristics, cargo conditions, and other parameters. During initial implementation, we perform a calibration process, after which the system continues to learn and adapt using actual operational data. This enables more accurate and tailored recommendations for each individual vessel.

Environmental Compliance / Regulatory Measures

Can it support compliance with EU-ETS and IMO emission regulations?
seawise includes reporting functions compliant with the latest international environmental regulations such as EU-ETS and IMO DCS. It is also designed to quickly adapt to future regulatory changes.(Currently connected with the ClassNK MRV Portal.)
Are greenhouse gas emission reports automatically generated?
Yes. Reports are automatically generated based on CO₂ emissions and fuel consumption data, in formats required by regulations. Customization for specific authorities is also available.
Can it assist in creating a long-term decarbonization roadmap?
By analyzing historical data and forecasting future trends, we can design a roadmap to help achieve your CO₂ reduction targets. Based on your specific inquiry, we will provide a tailored proposal.

Security & Maintenance

Is a constant internet connection required?
No. The onboard system enables suggestions and logging even when offline. Synchronization with the cloud occurs automatically when connectivity is available.
How strong is the protection against cyberattacks?
We utilize a cloud service with advanced security measures in place. Additionally, when connecting with data collection devices and other systems, we ensure thorough security by conducting prior reviews and validations to maintain a robust and secure environment.
Are software maintenance fees charged separately?
Normally, maintenance fees are included in the monthly license cost. Updates, troubleshooting, and support are provided as part of a comprehensive service package.
Does it require special hardware onboard?
seawise is lightweight and runs on minimal specifications, making it compatible with many existing PCs. This reduces the need for additional hardware investment.
Who owns the collected data?
In principle, ownership of collected operational data resides with the shipowner. We may use anonymized data for analysis and related purposes based on contract terms, but it will never be provided to third parties without consent.
